Why I’m Running
Leadership that begins by listening
Across Prince Edward Island, people are working harder, paying more, and becoming increasingly frustrated with a political system that can seem disconnected from everyday life.
Islanders want leaders who listen, communicate honestly, and understand what it takes to make a payroll, raise a family, maintain a home, and contribute to a community.
I am running because I believe the Liberal Party can again become the clear choice for Islanders looking for responsible government, stronger communities, and a more hopeful future.
This leadership race is about the future of our party, but the purpose of our party must always be serving the people of Prince Edward Island.
Moving Forward

A modern Liberal Party must remain grounded in the values that have always brought Islanders together, hard work, responsibility, community, and respect.

A province-wide party
Rural communities, growing towns, and Charlottetown all deserve to be heard. Our party must be organized, present, and competitive everywhere.

Responsible government
Every public dollar must be treated as though someone worked hard to earn it, because they did. Strong services require disciplined management.

Good leadership listens before it speaks. Islanders deserve a meaningful voice in the decisions affecting their families and communities.

A political party should not appear only during elections. We must show up, stay involved, and earn trust through consistent work.

About Dean
A builder, business owner, and community volunteer
Dean MacArthur is a tradesman, business owner, employer, heritage restoration advocate, and active community volunteer.
Through his masonry business and the restoration of the historic Parish House in Mont-Carmel, Dean has built a reputation for taking on difficult projects, solving problems, and seeing important work through.
He regularly attends and supports community events across Prince Edward Island and believes public service begins by showing up, listening, and doing the work.
Dean lives in the Bonshaw area with his husband, Matthew. He became a Canadian citizen in 2024 and considers the opportunity to contribute to Prince Edward Island one of the greatest privileges of his life.
He believes leadership is not about possessing a title. It is about accepting responsibility, earning trust, and producing results.
